Start with the layers

An interchange-plus proposal generally separates underlying card-network-related costs from the provider’s stated markup. Actual statements can include additional assessments, authorization charges, gateway fees, monthly fees, and other items depending on the arrangement.

Use your own transaction mix

A useful comparison starts with the same time period, volume, transaction count, channels, card mix, refunds, and other activity. A single advertised percentage cannot represent all of those variables.

Statement review questions

  • Which costs are pass-through, marked up, bundled, or estimated?
  • Which per-transaction and monthly charges apply?
  • Do online, keyed, recurring, and in-person transactions price differently?
  • What contract, equipment, gateway, compliance, or support fees apply?
  • How will the proposal be reconciled against the first live statements?

Opportunity signal for the demo app

If search interest rises for “interchange-plus pricing” while this page loses organic entrances or has an outdated title, the test application can recommend a content refresh, comparison tool, or statement-review campaign.
